Unique Custom features include Gold “Classic 50′s” Alnico III pickups, Gold Switch ring, jack plate and “speed” knobs and of course that Vintage Buttercream finish and faded binding Headstock featuring Grover 18:1 tuners, Graphtech TUSQ nut and Randy Rhoads Custom truss cover Not only a good illustration of the crack-free neck joint but also the beautifully faded binding and negligible fretware No cracks this side either! The Graphtech saddles make a major improvement to the sound, and cut down on string breakage. Please note the minor blemish to the left of the pickup The non-standard Grover 18:1 tuners are of a higher ratio to improve tuning stability and accuracy. The serial number indicates it’s Korean origin and 2006 date of manufacture. Also visible is the only small chip in the paintwork at the top of the headstock which is not visible when being played, on a stand, in the case etc. Vintage PIO capacitors contribute to this guitar’s unique sound as do the highest available tolerance CTS audio taper pots, even when everything’s on full! The Gold Pickup Selector and Ring are unique to this Randy Rhoads Custom Model Like all the other Gold hardware this jackplate is untarnished No Buckle Rash! There is some minor hazing to the finish at the back but it’s barely visible to the naked eye (even close up!) and it definitely can’t be picked up by the camera A nice shot of the back to complete the set It’d be a crime to carry such a gorgeous instrument about in a gig bag! This comes with an excellent SKB flight case contured to the curves of a Les Paul, not the generic “one size fits all” type The Late Great Randy Rhoads playing his original 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom Based on Randy Rhoads’ 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom (the guitar you can hear on the original recording of “Crazy Train”) and the subsequent Gibson “tribute” which retails at over £3000. The basis of this custom model is a 2006 Tokai Les Paul Custom made in Korea; far superior in build quality and materials than the currently available Chinese Tokais. It has the same solid mahogany body and neck with a maple cap as the original, but the most striking feature is the beautiful “Buttercream” finish and naturally aged binding that sets it apart from the cold “alpine white” of most currently available copies. It appears closer in colour to Randy’s original than Gibson’s “tribute” which has a deeper “beige” finish. The Custom Features include additional Gold hardware, authentic Alnico III pickups, Grover 18;1 tuners, totally upgraded vintage wiring and electrical components, and Graphtech nut and saddles. it comes with a Les Paul Contured SKB Hardshell Flight Case worth over £100 alone! NONE OF THESE FEATURES CAN BE FOUND IN THE STANDARD MODEL PICKUPS Both Randy’s original ’74 and Gibson’s tribute have Alnico III pickups and this is no exception. The pickups chosen were the Classic 50′s Alnico 3 Model. Alnico III pickups have more sustain, sensitivity and note definition than the usual Alnico V of most modern pickups and make a major contribution to Randy’s signature sound HARDWARE The superficial differences between the Randy Rhoads and the standard model are the replacement of the black volume and tone knobs, pickup selector switch and surround ring with Gold hardware, all of which has been done. Instead of the standard Schaller Tuners I have introduced a special set of Grovers engineered at the higher than average ratio of 18:1 which means they’re easier to tune and much more stable. Im a big fan of Graphtech so I’ve installed both a nut and bridge saddles of Black TUSQ material. This has three main qualities; an improvement in richness of tone and harmonics, a friction free surface that greatly increases tuning stability, and the ability to extend string life exponentially. ELECTRONICS The overall sound of a guitar is greatly affected by the type of pots and capacitors used in the volume and tone circuits even when they are “off” (fully turned up). In this guitar I have used the same high tolerance 500K CTS audio taper pots as Gibson and I have acquired some Russian vintage PIO (paper in oil) capacitors of the same spec as those used by Fender and Gibson up until the late eighties. SETUP AND PLAYABILITY The setup has been done with precision instruments ensuring the lowest possible action without rattles buzzes or deadspots. The intonation has been set and tuning stability is excellent. It balances well and the neck is closer in profile to the 50′s Gibson’s ie. thinner than the later “baseball bat” designs It’s in superb condition and feels like a vintage guitar that’s been locked in a cupboard and never been played. All the Gold hardware is intact and uncorroded. However, it’s not brand new and I’d be dishonest not to point out a couple of minor flaws, though they’re barely noticeable and don’t distract from the overall look. The only chip in the paintwork is a small one on the back of the headstock, and there’s a small dent that’s only visible from certain angles just above the bridge pickup. Both are (barely) visiblle in the photos . FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ANYTIME WITH ANY QUESTIONS, I’LL GET BACK TO YOU ASAP. Thanks for checking out my NO RESERVE auction. Up for grabs is a Made in Japan Tokai AST-62 stratocaster style electric guitar. I’m not an expert on Tokais but my understanding is that it’s likely from the mid 80′s. Serial number is in picture six. The guitar is in outstanding shape, particularly for a guitar that’s almost 30 years old. Some nicks on the lower part of the back shown in picture 7. The guitar comes with a really cool old tweed case (pictured). I don’t know if it’s original. To my knowledge the guitar is 100% original other than the bridge which was updated with a Dimarzio. Tremolo bar is also included. The guitar plays really well. This is a reissue/copy of the ’62 Fender Strat. The neck is fast and feels great. One thing of note: the volume pot is a little balky when turned down all the way. I’ve included a new pot but the guitar plays fine as is when the volume’s turned up so I never bothered to change it. More on this model: “Tokai wanted a piece of the solid-body electric guitar market in the USA and began selling altered versions of these early replica Strats that would not violate any existing manufacturers trademarks. Early into the 1980s, Tokai introduced the TST-56 and TST-62 models. The TST-56 emulated the ’56 Strat with a maple neck and the TST-62 likewise resembled the ’62 Strat with a rosewood fingerboard. A January 1983 Tokai USA Price List indicates either guitar was offered at a retail list price of $570.00 with a tweed case. These guitars deviated significantly from the earlier Tokai guitars. Most apparent was the headstock’s logo and outline changes to avoid looking like the pre-CBS Fender headstock and decal. Tokai added a flat side to the normally rounded knob at the end of the headstock and the logo was changed with ‘Tokai’ in fatter script with a regular ‘T’, not a backward ‘F’-style letter. The model number is in block letters and doesn’t resemble the original Fender Stratocaster decal. Overall, they were still an excellent value in 1983. ” Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Shipping and handling is a flat $42. This guitar is also listed for sale privately and I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event of a private sale. I will consider shipping the guitar overseas but international bidders MUST confirm shipping info BEFORE bidding.

TOKAI SS40 + SS48 Body Conversion Silver Star Late 70′s made Well, this is a conversion guitar. I bought SS48 guitar(Mid 80′s Body), but the neck is very bad condition. I could not fix it. So, I put the Tokai older neck from my stock. It should be SS40 neck from the serial number (Late 70′s made). Tokai strat construction (large head, 3 screws type) were changed during 1978-82 time. Later model has the metal plates for tilt adjusting on both neck and body. The earlier construction hasn’t got the plates on. So, the neck of SS40 hasn’t got the plate, This body has the plate. It’s functionally no problem. The neck has the extra screw hole on the connecting surface. The previous user used this neck with 4 holes. Now, it is fixed. The electric circuits are original condition. Well, this is conversion guitar, so I could offer a lower price than full original. However, please note both of them are original Tokai. The body is probably Sen (Japanese ash) 3-4P. The neck is maple 1P with Rose Finger board with 42.3mm nut. The weight is 3.5Kg. The body condition is so so. There are several dents and scratches as older guitar, don’t effect any for construction. The neck pocket has the paint cracks on both side a bit. Anyway, it is fair condition guitar. If you are thinking to get the brand new condition. It is not. However, it is good for playing. We will ship this guitar with used Gigbag. Well, just enjoy the JV guitar. The freight(EMS) and insurance for USA, Canada and Australia is included the price. For All Europe +US$23.00 For S. America/Africa +US$146.00 We have a large stock/collection of Japanese Vintage guitars and effectors. If you are looking for particular JV guitar, please let us know. Important Notice Please read before bidding. We recognize you understand the below fully when you bid. All our guitars are inspected before delivery. However, we would like you to note the following; 1. These guitars are mostly over 20 years old. We are trying to describe as possible as we can.? However, we described based on our evaluation. These are not brand new guitars. You could not compare the guitars with brand new. If you are expecting the brand new guitar condition or perfect, in case, most of vintage guitar will not make you happy. 2. Frets are generally worn because these are second hand guitar. We have checked whether it can be used without leveling or re-fret. We notice you there are some possibilities that you would like to level. It depends on the players. We would like Bidder have knowledge how to adjust the string height and intonation. The guitar neck is also very sensitive. Sometimes, the humid or dry (in air place) will cause the minor neck bow. The Nut groove height is so sensitive. Therefore, these weather conditions sometimes affect the condition. However, these minor trouble can be mostly solved by adjusting the truss rod, bridge or nut groove height. We could not accept the claim for this case. We would like you to have knowledge to adjust like this by yourself. We will not accept any requests the bidder ask us to settle repair fee after you purchased. 3. The bidder may need to pay the import tax depending on the country. We don’t know how much you should pay it. It depends on your country law. Our pricing is not including any expense outside of our country. 4. If the guitar is not exactly our description or it is not your expectation, we will accept the return. After receiving the return goods, we will refund all you paid . We will not settle the return freight and import tax you paid. 5. The damage during transportation, we will cover by EMS insurance. It takes 1-2 months after receiving your local EMS officials report. By air shipment, there are some possibilities that air pressure change, humidity or temperature may cause the trouble of guitar wood. On the internet sales, you could not check the good by yourself. We are trying to explain the detailed. We are not willing that the bidder will be unhappy after you purchase the guitar from us. If you find out any, please report us within 2 days after you receive the goods. We would not accept any return after you or somebody repair the guitar.

Tokai LS 195 VS , solid flame top, 1 pc back, Lacquer finish (1 of 50) historic

Tokai LS 195 VS , part of a limited run of 50 produced for a Japan music store chain order. It is effectively an LS-260, feature for feature, but discounted to the Musicland Key store chain for the bulk order purchase and the savings passed on to you. The only difference between both models is that LS 195′s shipped with Sprague Orange drop capacitors instead of costlier LS-260 Sprague Black Beauty caps. This LS 195 is the only 2009 model I have ever come across. I belive most if not all of the rest were 2010 models. It might explain why this example has a superior mahogany body to others I have seen. This LS 195 features a solid flame top and an old growth mahogany flat cut one piece back (based on the diameter of growth rings along lower bout bottom edge, consistent with a 3ft wide or larger tree). This mahogany back resembles many original bursts, historics or other premium brand Les Paul . Has a long tenon as pictured. Vintage finish (VF) lacquer. It shipped without a mounted pick guard and was never drilled for a pick guard, which is common to “Special Order” guitars. It is still in “like new”condition with the original Lifton style hard case, other than two 1/8″ x 1/4″ tiny back surface marks on the mirror finished lacquer. that could probably be buffed out, if desired , because they are on the finish surface only, and not into the finish. Neck is straight. Guitar has no playability issues or buzzing. Weight is 9.05 lbs. Original Tokai Mk-II pickups with braided pickup leads sound average, but with good cleans. Highs and punch could be improved slightly with Sprague Black Beauties that were originally intended for this guitar. Resistances are neck 8.39k, bridge 7.64k The US wiring harness, 500k CTS pots and Switch Craft components are the best available. Compares favorably with R-9′s (outside of R-9 headstock and some R-9 hardware appearing more authentic), with pickups and caps being the only thing I would replace down the line, on either guitar . Here are Japan specs for LS-195s: Body Top – Hard Maple Body Back -One piece mahogany Neck – One piece mahogany deep joint Fingerboard – Rosewood Nut – beef bone Position markers – cell (Amber Color) Bridge – HLS VB (Brass saddles) Tailpiece – HLS-VT (aluminum) Pickups – Vintage PAF-mk2 ×2. Controls – 2 VOL. 2 TONE CTS pots Mono jack – SWITCH CRAFT Toggle – SWITCH CRAFT products Wiring – Western Electric Finish – nitrocellulose lacquer finish Original hard case included Guitar will be wrapped in plastic in it’s Lifton style hard case, and then padded inside a double cardboard box to ensure a damage free shipment. Over seas shipments are charged actual shipping fees. This is usually between $135 + $150 USD Insurance is included in the $10 handling fee. Tokai Silver Star 48 1982 Electric GuitarHere is an extremely sweet MIJ str4t copy from 1982, what is considered one of the best years for the Tokai factory and lawsuit era guitars. The Silver Stars emulate the 70s str4ts so they don’t have the collectible status and price of the Springy Sounds, yet they have the tone and build quality. You won’t find an actual 70s str4t that sounds or is built anywhere near this good. This guitar is in fantastic shape for its age. Very little wear and few scratches. It’s also very resonant and just feels really solid. Note the ’48′ on the fret board indicating it’s model number, quality and original price in yen. It’s missing the whammy bar and comes with a gig bag. As far as I can tell, it’s all original. I’ve been selling off my collection little by little and this is one of the last ones to list because it’s one of my favorites. Whenever I pick it up, I never want to put it down. But it’s time to raise money so I really hope this one goes to a good home.Pictures describe better than I could. See a bunch more detailed pics here: http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa384/claykent/Greco%20Silver%20Star%20ls48/ I’ve lowered shipping costs although please note, my costs to ship it have not actually changed, I’m just eating the difference. Lowball offers asking for free shipping will probably just be ignored. Here’s my generic disclaimer fine print, please read: I have 100% perfect feedback. Please ask questions BEFORE bidding. I’m not a dealer so sold as is -No warranty – No returns. Zero or excessive negative feedback bids will be rejected. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will be more than listed. Wait for an invoice if you are a buyer located in these areas. If there is no Buy it Now available in the listing, I won’t end the auction early. Once a bid is made any Buy It Now options disappears. Contact must be made within 24 hours and payment by paypal within 3 (THREE) days or item relisted. Shipping to verified paypal address only. No international shipping. It’s just too expensive and risky, it sucks, I know. Sorry. Domestic shipping may come from a carrier other than what the ebay calculator specifies but I’ll honor the cost. No sales tax in Oregon! Item for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction early for local sale. I’ll do absolutely whatever it takes to make the winning bidder happy, however I reserve the right to stick to my fine print specifics here to filter out the riff raff and such which you aren’t because you actually read this far. Sorry to make you read all that.
